The City Clerk serves as the local filing officer for the Fair Political Practices Commission. These reports include Conflict of Interest Statements, Campaign Finance Reports, and Agency Reporting.

In 2012 the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) launched an online service providing access to FPPC Form 802 disclosures on the FPPC website.  Please use the following link to access Form 802 disclosure forms for years 2012 - (March) 2015 –FPPC website (Link).  As of April 2015, FPPC Form 802 will again be available using the links provided below. 

Please use the following links for FPPC Form 802 disclosures for years 2009 – 2011, (April) 2015 - Present, as well as City policy for FPPC Form 802.

  • Form 460 - Recipient Committee Campaign Statement
  • Form 470 - Officeholder and Candidate Campaign Statement

  • Form 501 - Candidate Intention Statement 

Campaign Finance statements are required of candidates, City Council members, political action committees, and individuals making or receiving $2,000 or more to support of oppose candidates or measures.

Statements Of Economic Interests

Elected officers and City officials identified in Government Code Section 87200, file statements of economic interests with the City Clerk's office. Copies of the statements of economic interest filed by 87200 filers may be obtained by visiting the offices of the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) or the City Clerk. The physical address of the FPPC is 428 J Street, Suite 620, Sacramento, California, 95814. The Physical address of the City Clerk's office is 33282 Golden Lantern, Suite 203, Dana Point, California, 92629. The statements of economic interests for some state and local government agency elected officers and City officials may be available in electronic format on the FPPC's website at http://www.fppc.ca.gov/.

In addition to the above officials who are required by state law to file Form 700s, many other City officials are required by the City's local Conflict of Interest Code, by City Council Resolution, to file Form 700s. These locally-designated filers include positions and classifications that are held by individuals involved in the making or participation in the making of decisions that may have a material effect on financial interests.
